We’re also building smarter. It’s called “value engineering” and it focuses on reducing construction costs. We’re now making new homes more efficient to build by using pre-engineered construction systems built to our specifications. Floor trusses, wall systems and roof systems are custom-built to exacting specifications in a controlled environment, then assembled by our construction team on site. We use the same materials as onsite “stick built” homes, just more efficiently. The quality is higher than what can be built onsite; the cost is lower.
Value engineering also significantly reduces waste and keeps the value of your dollar in the home – not in a landfill. Consider this: every bit of waste – in time, money or materials – adds to the cost of a new home.
